                                  Teaching Learning Strategies for Slow Learners
                                    
                                                         

Not all children come to school with a drive to learn. Struggling learners or Slow learners are a challenge experienced by all teachers at some point in their career. It’s no surprise children learn at different rates, and, according to some published research, only when they are ready. Other research stresses intrinsic rewards, differentiated curriculum, and motivation by personalizing lessons. However, the bottom line for many educators is that some children are slow to learn, but don’t have a learning deficiency. Slow learners are students with below average cognitive abilities who are not disabled, but who struggle to cope with the traditional academic demands of the regular classroom (Lowenstein, 1). Many factors cause slow learning. In any class, about 10 percent are slow learners. "What is the best strategy to incorporate slow learners into the classroom?" What I hypothesize is that the best strategy for incorporating these students in the classroom is to give them sufficient time to complete their work and by giving Individualized instruction in traditional ways as well as by using latest technology with personal guidance.
